Gottfried, RE: <<Come visit. Commit the SEMIcharts to memory first.>> I'll be there soon. I estimate it will only take me a few months to get through the a-c's. It must be a small board if that's a requirement. gg
Actually I used to go there and read every post. Did that for over a year and remember your excellent posts. I also used to read semi-news and other sources that I still have bookmarked but when it went so high I stopped. It might be time to do it again.
It's too bad we couldn't allocate sectors with two or three of us on one sector to become the sector experts. Whoa there, WHOA, no fair signing up for oils. Maybe we could have all of the jimP kind of info handy so we could make some better decisions, long or short, based on the fundamentals and possibly any latest rumors. Then again, what would we do about all those free riders that would lurk and steal our trades like you know who and who? gg
We could use some kind of spreadsheet format that was standard and would condense down the latest P/E etc and then keep it updated with little warnings and notes. We could keep track of whether there was a good message board for the stock and if so, we could read and stay up to date on the latest rumors. Actually there's a lot we could do. the difference between tech and oils is the sheer volume of sectors and subsectors and stocks involved, along with all the different micro markets. It would be handy if we could specialize and shortcut some of the bassic. I know that Gottfried has done this, as a kindness, in the semi-equip area and has saved countless hours for others by posting it and keeping it updated. Similarly, JimP has done that for us in oils and generously shared his info as a kindness. Just something to think about. If it looks like a go, I intend to find a subsector of special interest to me that has a grand total of one or two stocks in it. Maybe size 24 shoe production companies. GG
