The meeting kind of covered what happen over the last year. ECD had displays set up in the hallways with their people answering questions. DVD RW disks now selling with 4.7 gigs of data per disk. Has built a machine that will produce disks faster .GE is very satisfied with progress with this machine .A new pilot production plant this will be made in the next year .The first disks in production will be using the old technology but about two years from now the 15 gig disk could be made using new technology developed by others. I ask about the nat. china companies not paying royalties the answer is they expect them to sign a license I believe in the next quarter at least they are negotiating with them. The new machine will be used to make disks for ECD to sell. Other machines will be made for disk companies with ECD getting a share of the profits on selling them machines(or royalties?) I ask the question will we sell machines to companies that are not paying royalties the answer was ECD would not. The pansonic digital recorder was on display a guess its hard to find to buy this one cost 2000 now but the price could drop as low as 500 given a little time. ECD also has research going on making its machine ready for the blue laser disks that will be another step in storage size on a disk.
