This post is to the board, a person who watches but does not post asked me to share his theory with the board.

I believe all this garbage going on with Intel's warnings,revenue
short-fall, etc. and the fact that they did not squash AMD and/or Cyrix is part of the bigger chess game in regards to DEC and it's threat of anti-trust lawsuit. I beleive Intel knew the Anti-trust card would be used against them long ago and made a concerted effort to paint the proper picture in regards to anti-trust. They basically had to give away the lower-end in order to be able to defend anti-trust allegations. After all, how much of a monopoly could they have if they are having sale slowdowns while AMD et al are gaining?

In summary, if one does not already own Intel I see no reason to buy at this time. This stock is going to be dead money for several months. No compeling reason for anyone to buy until the "transition" pans out.
