Hi KLP - not quite sure what you are getting at, but I am here to learn and sometimes to exchange views of being a genuine individual. However, I ve tried hard not to judge anyone --- much more so about people I don't really know. I see no difference between the yes people and the no people <g>. Or even the maybe people. It is the circumstance that is important. Look at the situation and not the players, if you will.
I ve kicked around for a while, when I 1st started out in systems [back then they call our industry DP, not IT <G>,] long hrs and low pay was actually the norm. Then, the booming new economy has changed all that. So I heard that foosball was a requirement at the height of the bubble mania <VBG>! I suspect it is as much a urban myth. Still, it is better to have an attitude that no one is indispensible. Otherwise, one's head can be bigger than one's mind. Also, mgt intrigue is not that unusual. Unless there is clear delineation of right and wrong, it is better to stay out of any struggle. There is no sense of being a pawn of the chessmasters. If it is a good fight, then fight a good fight. If it is not, walk away with dignity.
Anyway, WDIK, everyone has one's own way of dealing with the world
