We know that government has it's pet spending projects...maybe Bush isn't smart enough to know when he's being bamboozled. RE:"Star Wars is Keynesian economics hidden behind a conservative facade." It may appear that way. Make up an imaginary enemy and then defend against it. Nothing new there. OTOH, I wonder if the government can really think that far ahead (like stimulating the economy) and military build ups like Star wars aren't really the result of the simple "strong military" mantra drilled into us after WWII, all taken advantage of by military contractors... Jim PS...In Bushes favor, he does want to not spread our military to thin, putting them in harms way, not using them for social engineering.
