This is preposterous to count only parts of the company that produce the chips. Why don't you count only the cost of running FABs? The "profits" would be even greater.

This is the whole point that Intel has 80,000 employees and a bunch of moon bean ventures. A small fraction of those are printing money. The rest are going along for the ride.
