Some on the other thread sense that Dr J's little promotional tour over on the Continent is a sign of weakness. Nothing could be further from the truth IMO.

Could not agree with you more. I am thrilled to see Dr. Jacobs take the CDMA2000 message into the heart of GSM-land.

Referring to who QCOM needs on their side, I think it is both one Euro-vendor and one significant Euro-SP. The vendor will give cover to the switch by showing that European companies (at least one <ggg>) will benefit economically. And in the final analysis, it is the SP that will have to stand up to any criticism for the switch.
