we all knew about the delay -- we all knew WCDMA was effectively "vaporware." The people that refused to acknowledge this were the Euro-hacks. This may be a real opportunity for Qualcomm to break into Europe -- not a fantasy. European carriers are under too much financial pressure to just sit there and let spectrum go to waste. There is no reason to believe that 3G is unnecessary. Are you telling me you wouldn't upgrade to a phone that did 380 kbs if the cost of the service was the same or only a little higher? The stuff about 3G being unnecessary is just hype by the people who now aren't sure they're going to be able to implement 3G.
