Scumbria, I know - I was a marine biology major for two years, before I sold out to go into business. Biggest mistake of my life. But I've been actively involved for 15 years, that was my biggest concern moving to Phoenix. One of the reasons we moved back here is so I could go back to school, to get back into the sciences. We could never afford that in CA.

We've all known, and ignored the mercury content in our oceans. Hell, even Marvin Gaye referred to it in Mercy Me (The Ecology) over 30 years ago. All my in-laws could remember was that there was an unofficial moratorium (whatever that means), backed by the Japanese government. I've asked two sushi chefs since, and neither had heard of it (or so they say). I've already given up shrimp (except farm raised), scallops, swordfish, tuna not caught on an open line, and chilean sea bass.
