According to the latest report on WAN routers from Dell'Oro, JNPR has increased its share while CSCO has lost.

CSCO share of the market for core routers went from 69 to 65% during third through fourth quarter period in 2000, while JNPR sales of M160, M40, and M20 routers rose from 30 to 34%

CSCO is not hurting from this though. The core market for 2000 was $2.4 billion; CSCO had 71% while JNPR had 28%.

AVCI now holds 1% of the market share, with its growing sales of Terabit Switch Router.

Dell'Oro will be revising its approach to this market, based on the different kinds of routers.
