We've all known, and ignored the mercury content in our oceans. Hell, even Marvin Gaye referred to it in Mercy Me (The Ecology) over 30 years ago. All my in-laws could remember was that there was an unofficial moratorium (whatever that means), backed by the Japanese government.

Its not just mercury...the Japanese are finding that the level of parasites is increasing, especially in the last ten years.
