Iridium LLC announced the appointment of Neal F. Meehan as Vice President, Aeronautical Services, responsible for developing IRIDIUM aeronautical business for cockpit and passenger communications.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At any one time there a million or so people airborne around the world. They would like to be able to phone home. Every 747 will need to have Globalstar or Iridium passenger phones available and allow people to use their own phones on planes.

The present twaddle that it is dangerous for aircraft magical electronics is just that. Airlines are going to have to allow passengers to use their phones. To have people incommunicado for 10 hours at a time because the airlines are not sure what to do is ridiculous. It looks as though Iridium are going to help them figure out what to do.

Jo, the yachts are in the Pacific, Atlantic, Caribbean, Mediterranean and elsewhere in their millions. With GPS/Globalstar "Anita" type cellphones, their safety and communication capacity is going to be vastly and cheaply improved.

People with the Panic Button GPS Globalstar phones will contract with PRIVATE security people paid on commission per effective rescue. No rescue, no pay! This can be at sea or downtown.
