As a Christian?
I can definitely assure that is not the case. <g>
Seriously, IJ was making a marketing ploy, pure and simple, and it backfired in this market environment.
Sulpizio, the Q president, said essentially the same thing at the Robbie Stephens tech conference, and other than being somewhat taken aback by Sulpizio's less than polished style, nobody much cared.
But you do make a good point that Nokia will be very dependent on a successful roll-out of GPRS, and I am getting concerned about the lack of successful trials and operator despondency. Obviously there is a lot of effort going on to make the handsets work, and I commend Nokia for not making MOT's mistake and rushing some GPRS crap out into the market.
I am not sure that Q's top brass have lately read the business classic "How to Win Friends and Influence People." Of course, the Intel guy speaking at the GSM World Congress was in the same category.
(Did have a nice day trading QCOM, and waiting for NOK to hit my target predicted last night. Tick, tock, tick, tock, give it some time, Nokia will rock!) |
