SOROS, as I think over my comments to Les, I realize that I may seem to have misconstrued your point, when I do agree with aspects of your position. I just think your jeremiad on Greenspan, Clinton, and financial apocalypse is a a bit much, and that your position vis-a-vis traders is unclear. It almost seems that you hold us at least in part responsible for the "calamity" that you're predicting. Do you understand the essential role that traders play in the functioning of financial markets?

You can call it gambling, but what do you expect individuals (those trading just for themselves as well as those who are responsible for other people's money) to do when short positions (of which many may have been about due to be covered anyway) are suddenly being threatened with the kind of action that took place on 1-03?
