Gary, I check this thread regularly and hold Antec. I can't say whether it is fully valued or not. I was sure it was a good deal in the 8's and now I would think it's still not bad.

Why? TCI. TCI is a major stockholder in Antec and they've announced plans to spend I think 3 billion upgrading their systems. This would seem to be bullish for Antec. Now, I don't follow Antec closely and I could be corrected if someone said TCI sold their stake in the company in the last 6 months but I doubt it.

I do follow Harmonic Lightwave and Ortel. Both are growing fast. Ortel just announced earnings and sited reports of stronger orders in the second half for broadband. One bad note, Harmonic has stopped using Antec as a VAR. I don't know if this is a trend of other companies. For HLIT this was significant, about 15% of their revenues, but it's less that 10 million. I doubt it if Antec will miss them.

Antec isn't widely followed and has had a slow steady climb recently. It seems to add an 1/8 or 1/4 on a regular basis. That has ended up being a 50% rise in the last 6 weeks. Pretty good, but not dramatic enough to hit most radar screens. At the same time, it may be more stable. People buying this company are probably investors.

Oh yes, good insider buying was happening at the start of this rise.

I would be curious if anyone know what portion of sales Antec has outside the US. For Ortel and HLIT, international sales have been exceeding domestic. That may be changing, but international has been a strong market.

Does anybody know what Book value is?
