Welcome Shareholders and Viewers to our SiteInformation Hotline: 801-355-GOLD

This is the update for February 16, 2001. — As mentioned on the last month's message, we are now presenting the Paqueiro target that our geologic crews have been working on the past several months for joint venture to several major mining companies. The next step on this area is extensive geophysical work and diamond drilling that calls for large capital expenditures that we wish to pass on. In addition, it is desirable to have a partner at this stage that is able to take the property to production upon a successful discovery. This target area is within our Rebeira Project area located in southern Brazil where we continue ongoing exploration and investigations.
We have completed the surface examination of the Paqueiro target area with thousands of assays being returned from the laboratories from rock, soil, and stream sediment samples submitted by our geologists and technicians in the field. The results from these have been computer plotted on maps outlining anomalous areas of lead, zinc, silver, copper and gold. This coupled with the ground geophysics and detailed geologic mapping completed, clearly shows several areas that indicate large hidden ore bodies. These anomalous targets show continuity up to three kilometers long with consistent high values in gold.
Four major international mining companies have made visits to the property and have expressed interest in joining with us for the next stages of exploration. Right now, it is all being delayed by the annual Carnival being celebrated in Brazil; their Mardi Gras takes precedence to all business.
This past month, we filed our annual Form 10-K with the U.S. Securities and Exchange. This contains our last audited financial statements and other pertinent data. This can be obtained through the government's Edgar program at their Internet Site, or at our web site: www.gold-standard.com. If you do not have access to a computer, please let us know and we will mail you a copy upon your request.

That's all for this month. The next update will be March 15, 2001. Thank you for calling the Gold Standard Information Line.
