Joan, just another note. California utility consumers have not yet felt the full brunt of this past winters NG spike. They have been sheilded by the state, which is why their utilities have gone bk. Had they felt the full force of those prices California would have been in deeper trouble than it already is. I also strongly suspect that in less regulated northern states many folks are struggling mightily to pay those monthly $600 - $1000 ute bills. If this continues much longer many of those bills will go unpaid. Think it can't happen? Au contraire. It can and it will as many segment of the American populace live paycheck to paycheck.
