I wasted a lot of time with DECT from Siemens fighting PHS of NEC. AT that time 1995/96, we wanted DECT to 'take the world by storm' rather than the Japanese PHS. The concept is the same one master station and several radio terminals covered by a radio bean.

That's what I mean as recycled WLL. What the Gartners and Forresters expensive reports of those forgot to tell was that, the same companies that were making WLL, were also making GSM. And they didn't want any poor man's wireless to become competition.

I don't think any of those 3G throughbreds of today are going to dream of broadband wireless succeeding to compete with 3G/UMTS.
