Terry;

I was heavily into the Labrador Play (staking and vending land) after which i wrote a newsletter on the play for a while. I have since migrated away from the play. Just found this thread.

<<I was questioning the lack of troctolite at Okak Bay--really there is a big difference between what I asked you and what Gallery has posted. >>>

If i recall correctly, someone did find some troctolite in the Okak (or further west), but like you said it was very minor. Several large NNW faults run through this area to the Kiglapait Intrusion. Would be interesting to see someone do some serious work along those faults, depending on timing they could host ultramafics associated the intrusion at depth.

<<FYI--Voisey's Bay orebodies & mineralization do not exhibit the type magnetic signature which Gallery is posting on their website. There is no chloritic alteration associated with any VB orebody which I'm aware of.>>

I think you are correct on the chloritic alteration as well, but not positive.

<<Gallery's Okak Bay webpage is largely "techno-babble"--but I was happy to read that they propose doing deep-looking geophysics prior to drilling.>>>

The best one was the kimberlite target they published for a long time. What happened to it? Maybe it was altered to chlorite before they go to drill it!

<<BTW--Tech's (formerly Donner) property south of Voisey does have
troctolite. Grades and volumes have been pretty skimpy to date--but
Tech-types are still calling it a VB look-alike. We'll all see
this summer if Norm Keevil has something to show for his efforts.>>>

Rumour in Newfoundland is there are 3 to 4 different generations of troctoite. Most companies don't know this. Weird!

<<OkAk>>

Caribou! I think some Au may be found in that area though.

Just my 2 cents worth!
