Yeah I had this argument with my sig other last month. I decided that 1GHz Pentium3 chips at $270 retail were a pretty good buy, so I bought a couple. She said, "why not wait - they'll be even cheaper later in the recession". My feeling is that there is a limit to these price wars because even Intel won't sell at a huge loss. They'll just idle the fabs.
