Maybe we will merge with machines and do away with the need for procreation. Think how awesome it would be to be able to exist for timespans beyond comprehension, merely by replacing parts that wear out. Plus machines can network- which would be interesting from a communications standpoint. Or perhaps machines will evolve without us, and do away with us because we are so stupid and annoying.
