Chris, to be short and sleep well you need an offsetting portfolio of quality long positions and enough short term cash to smile and short more if your $40 short goes over $70 as happened to me with Zitel. If you see a rising stock price as pain rather than a better shorting opportunity you are in too deep.

Then there are those wonderful days like today when your longs go up and your shorts go down. It was a fun day. {no, this is not a vvus advertisement}
