Dr. J used the Financial times article to communicate the inability of GPRS and Euro W-CDMA to provide financial results to Banks, bondholders and shareholdesr. In effect, he bypassed Euro equipment makers and operators to have a frank discussion with THEIR boss -- those who hold the purse strings. Now we will see thw whole industry shudder in Europe and the financial community wakes up from a trance induced by NOK's and ERICY's happy horse shit propoganda machine. NOW the FIT hits the SHAN.

The FT article was not directed at the Operators but instead to their bankers, bondholders
and shareholders. If Dr J wanted the Operators attention, any tech periodical would do.

The Operators know the real status of w-CDMA and its likely deployment schedule. How can
they not...they are involved with the standards process and have the technologist necessary to
understand the issues. I’m sure some started smelling the stench nine months ago and
commenced inquires about CDMA2000.

Dr. J knows the European Operators are under the gun and being watched carefully by the
markets. IMO, this was a well-calculated move by Dr J. He just shocked the bankers,
bondholders and shareholders to look beyond superficial fluff presented by
Operators/Manufactures and to grasp the true issues at heart.

I wonder if there any 3G business plans lack the flexibility to absorb a two-year delay? I’ll bet
the BBS’s are asking that question too.

It may have back-fired short term…but in the long run it was a smart play.
IMHO, zipper
