Hello Mr. Post,
I did not read the statement as calling for an increase of 95% in any quarter. What I think they meant is that 95% of their expected orders for the first quarter have already been booked. But there is little reason for that to be true yet for the following quarters.
Every business I've worked in has a smaller backlog the further you go into the future. Would a bunch of big customers all place firm orders on which they did not want work to begin until the fourth quarter? To use an extreme but illustrative example, l'd be willing to bet a large sum that CTSH has no orders for the year 2007. Essentially nobody orders so far into the future. I hope I'm writing clearly. I always overestimate my ability at explaining..
The fourth quarter may be sensational. They may already have lots of orders for then but there are still 8 or so months for more and more orders to come in for the fourth quarter. So I doubt that they have already booked 95% of their expected orders for the fourth quarter.
