Blacks did need help to gain dominance in sports. Are you old enough to remember when there were no black players in the BAA (predecessor of the NBA). At one time, there were no blacks in professional baseball. At one time, there were very few blacks with athletic scholarships in college. I went to high school in Seattle in the early 50s. There were plenty of good black athletes in the school but none of them played on the school team because of discrimination. Blacks vote for the Democratic Party by 9 to 1 because they recognize the party which has helped them with access to opportunity/
