Compared to other systems it's pretty good as far as I can see. Do we need changes?? HELL YES, and lots of them. Nothing will change the system because of the downturn?? That's not clear to me... I think it depends overwhelmingly on how bad things get, one and two: what do you mean the "system" won't change?? Do you mean the way people invest? In other words there has to be a backlash for the system to change IMO, and a nasty enough bear may indeed bring changes.
