M A R K E T .. S N A P S H O T -- Stocks poised to start on the upside

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) - After staging an incredible turnaround late Friday, tech stocks were looking to add to gains Monday with the futures markets pointing to a positive start for the broad market as well.

March S&P 500 futures gained 6.40 points, or 0.5 percent, and were trading roughly 5.20 points above fair value, according to HL Camp & Co. Nasdaq futures, meanwhile, put on 37.50 points, or 1.8 percent.

Over in the Treasury arena, the front end gained some minor ground while long-dated issues slipped into the minus column.

The 10-year Treasury note was off 1/32 to yield ($TNX) 5.10 percent while the 30-year government bond lost 3/32 to yield ($TYX) 5.48 percent.

In the currency arena, dollar/yen edged up 0.3 percent to 116.24 while euro/dollar dropped 0.8 percent to 0.9097.
