Your views on GPRS are especially useful, since in the real world, GPRS is the competition to CDMA One and its upgrades in the next 2-4 years. No 1999 version of W-CDMA, such as that due from DoCoMo in Japan, or the 1999 W-CDMA (UMTS) Isle of Man or Monaco tests seem to even qualify for the 3D designation, since speed is estimated to be around 64 k - the equivalent of the CDMA I-95B now in use by KDDI in Japan.
