electronics markets, announced today that the U.S. Patent and
Trademark Office has issued a patent for a cable modem
single-conversion tuner. The patent, number 6,169,569, protects the
fundamental architecture of Microtune's cable modem tuners that employ
low-cost, low-power, single-conversion tuning methods. In addition,
the patent encompasses any cable modem that uses such
single-conversion cable modem tuners.
