I'm sure of the platter but not the price. Would be silly to do it by the drive when a drive could have one to nine platters wouldn't it? Could be the $.50 is an average per drive but I would think the actual deal would be per platter. Either way it could be big profits for Ampex so we will wait and see. Some day they can let us know. Even the Air Force had to admit they had a stelth fighter! Hope we are not doing what the public did, many thought the stealth fighter was a flying saucer!
