That is the traditional US union stance.

As for unions, they lead to the decline of any industry in which they have a stranglehold. They are anathema to a modern economy.

The US auto industry tries to exact concessions from their suppliers while paying their union labor far in excess of their worth. They have for decades of decline. Because of inequalities in the current law, such unions can make demands that are not justified. For example, current UAW contracts effectively make labor a fixed cost.

Jusy as unions destroyed the railroads' role in the economy and created the trucking industry, unions will soon destroy the "domestic" auto industry. At present rates of decline, the traditional domestics will sell a minority of cars and trucks w/in a few years. Import brands now command a majority of cars sales with huge leads among the young and educated. And there is good reason why the import brands are building their US plants in areas outside of UAW control. No such luck for the companies in permanent decline.

You do make a good argument for eliminating the corporate income tax.
