Someone sent me a supportive private message some time back when I was going at it with UF.

The point this person made was that looking at it with the benefit of hindsight it is easy to see some of the gorillas and how well they have done. But supposing one were to have used the gorilla gaming concept in the 70s or 80s' how many stocks would have made it to the index only to be dropped off later because they did not meet the criteria any longer. As you may know GMST was dropped from the index between last year and this year -- doubtless the same thing would have happened to other stocks at various times over the years. I don't know if you follow what I am saying.

I see that Moore caused some consternation on the thread when he advocated that some form of market timing would be appropriate when macro-economic factors are not supportive. I guess he is saying what you have been saying - that one should take profits at certain times -g-

I wonder if the G&K folk ever wonder how much of his funds Moore puts into G&Ks' or whether he is more diversified!
