Starbase Announces Completion of worldweb.net and Technology Builders Inc. Acquisitions

Conference Call Scheduled To Provide New Financial Guidance and Present Expanded Product and Market Strategy

SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 2001-- Starbase Corp. (Nasdaq:SBAS - news), the leading provider of end-to-end collaborative products for both the development and management of content and code for eBusiness applications, today announced completion of the worldweb.net and Technology Builders Inc. acquisitions.

The Company will host an investor conference call on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001 at 12 Noon EST (9 a.m. PST) to provide new financial guidance for fiscal year 2002 and present expanded product and market strategy.

Kathy Quirk, Hurwitz Group analyst stated: ``With these acquisitions, Starbase brings its customers the best of both worlds -- they will be able to offer an integrated code and content management platform to appeal to customers who prefer purchasing through a single vendor, and they will also continue to sell the products individually and equip customers with an open application program interface (API) should they prefer to use a third-party tool for requirements management or content management. The acquisitions yield little customer overlap, which furnishes Starbase with an instant sales channel with plenty of cross-selling opportunities.''

Quirk continued: ``We believe that following good application development practices and applying them to Web site developments requires that all stakeholders -- developers, content writers, designers, and especially the important individuals who must approve and sign off on work -- have a unified, collaborative platform that allows them to work together throughout the Web development life cycle, from the gathering of requirements on through to deployment. Starbase, with the acquisitions it has announced and the integrations it already has in place, is the first vendor to bring such a solution to market.''

``With these acquisitions, Starbase has taken a quantum leap in establishing itself as the elite provider of comprehensive, collaborative solutions for both the development and management of content and code,'' stated William R. Stow III, president and CEO of Starbase. ``Our greatly expanded sales teams will pursue multiple cross selling opportunities to hundreds of new and established customers. These acquisitions have also brought us some of the finest engineering talent in the industry that will buttress our research and development efforts designed to bring next generation technology to the marketplace.''
