Wrong. It's up about 3x on the bills. No adjustments, no fiddling around, no mystical additions and subtractions like on the electrical portion of the bill. Here's how many therms you used, here's the cost per therm, here's the gas part of your bill.

And food is indeed rising sharply, and not just because it's winter. Safeway and Raley's markets are making a big deal about how 2-liter bottles of soda are now "on sale" at $1.19 and $1.49, for example.
