I suppose it's possible that everything could work out fine, as you project. However, it's not even remotely assured.

Not too much is ever assured but I think it unlikely that the whole trend of human development since the dawn of civilization is about to reverse.

Why would anyone want to take that big of a risk when we can avoid it so easily by just not growing our population so quickly? What is it that's so appealing about having a bazillion people on the planet that we would want to go so far as to use scarce energy to produce fresh water, for heaven's sake?

I'm not telling people to "go forth and multiply" I am just arguing against "the sky is falling" projections. I am also arguing against massive centrally planned solutions to those supposed "horrible looming problems".
