Marco, as usual, the news was anticipated by certain people (you know who you are) and the stock got bid up days before. The little blip of .36 today is just honest latecomers! This company has more leaks than a collander.
Will Mytec be asked to tender? Why should it -- the last time around, only the system integrators submitted tenders. Mytec does not do system integration, so has to lobby or sit and wait. Even city council can only suggest hardware, not mandate it -- they should be providing specifications only, and these can be matched by Lucent or whoever has similar technology. American system integrators will tend to ignore Mytec, out of bloody-mindedness or chauvinism or ignorance.
With all the security of Stentor backing, Mytec still managed to piss away its lead on this technology, treating it like some clumsy science fair toy rather than a real-life product that must compete on cost and performance. Where are the comparison tests by independent labs? Where are the blind trials? How can Mytec compete with a Lucent silicon chip!?
I watch Mytec with sick fascination, like seeing a pile-up on the 401, where car after car races through the fog to smash into the wreckage. As Monty Python said, THIS PARROT IS DEAD.
Fred Bealle (PS, the buffet at the AGM is excellent. Do not miss it. Last time, they even had wine and beer. Bring your wife and kids. SRO. Come early.) :-) |
