?Bull market - I dont know if you could call what we have had in the last 12 months a bull market

A wicked tech bear market and a mild bull for the rest according to Barron's. The S&P 500 got some publicity last week from its close brush with official bear market status (down 20% from the high). A columnist broke out 75 new economy stocks from the S&P 500 (62 tech, 13 telecom) and checked performance since the high of 3/24/00. Down average of 52.1%. The other 425 old economy stocks were up an average of 6.7%. So is an index in a bear market when 60% of the components are UP since the last high? . All bubbles end the same....ugly....and the bubble was very concentrated in the techs so that is where the carnage had to occur.
