GM has done a lot of dumb things and paid the price. Its recent lawsuit against the California Air Resources Board (CARB) is another example of a dumb thing. Prior to filing the GM lawsuit, Ford and other manufacturers told CARB in a public hearing that they are ready to meet the State's ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) mandate. About a month later GM goes public with a lose-lose policy, i.e., lose the suit and drop to a new all time low in public opinion.

I guess GM likes litigation games regardless of the outcome. So why not sue a state that has an extreme energy problem and an air quality problem? How dumb can we be to tell California they don't really need clean vehicles and alternative energy solutions? As a stockholder, I am deeply offended by this stupidity and arrogance.

What ever happened to the great GM, the corporate citizen? I remember a company that tried hard to solve problems and was committed to developing better and more socially acceptable vehicles. Has GM been reduced to non-caring vehicle assembler???? Mr. Smith call off your expensive lawyers and put them to work on more productive and less wasteful projects, please!!! Stats77
