Just spent a long weekend in Wawa. Actually got stuck an extra day in the storm. People in town have a lot of hopes for the diamond play since the iron ore mine shut down. Nobody knows anything very specific though. People working on roads, hauling equip etc. The best part was the ice fishing for brook trout. Caught some nice size fish. If anything is found around Wawa there is plenty of infrastructure to handle it. Will make the costs a lot lower than the NW Territories.
