Sudan, UAE sign protocol of cooperation in oil, mining fields
Text of report by Sudanese TV on 26 February

A protocol of cooperation in the field of oil and mining was signed between Sudan and the United Arab Emirates [UAE] at the premises of the Ministry of Energy and Mining this morning. The Sudanese side was represented by the minister of energy and mining, Dr Awad Ahmad al-Jaz, while the Emirates side was represented by the oil and minerals minister, Mr Ubayd Bin Sayf al-Nasiri.

After the the ceremony, the UAE minister said the signing of the protocol would contribute towards promoting and boosting bilateral ties in the interests of both countries. He said his country would encourage cooperation between Sudan and the UAE and affirmed that bilateral ties were deep-rooted and strategic.
