You hit the nail on the head for me.

The PE is what I'm worried about. Investor confidence is likely to impact this for years to come. If we are saddled with a PE that is too low for OE's growth rate, this investment's reward won't match the risk. They must be balanced. The CIBC report (thank you Pannawonica) is encouraging, largely because it addresses all of the issues.

I don't think there's much doubt the negotiations pending are significant because of the payment they expect to receive at it's conclusion. While the payment is important to resolving their cash situation, I hope the deal is also with a partner whose credibility is so high that OE's credibility gets a badly needed boost. For me, that credibility means volume potential, preferably a direct 4S auto manufacturer, my first choice being GM. But a whole host of possibilities are possible. The deal could be as weak as a production agreement on SCC or a further formalization with Delphi, or as strong as a deal with GM or Mercedes, with an arrangement with a smaller builder in the middle.
Rfritz10 does a good job of addressing the clues.

Today will be a good day to get confirmation on the bottom after Au closed up last night, as US markets are expected to be down at the open.

I'm not in love with the stock. I'm in love with the technology. There's a difference. Instead of being perceived as blind ignorance, it should be accepted as enthusiasm.
