That had to of been a looonnng time ago, I don't think that there have been publicly acknowledged "houses" in Houston since the '40s, possibly not even that late. I don't really see where zoning solves any problems that out weigh the drawbacks, i.e. excess regulation and the certainty that some city councilperson from the shallow end of the gene pool will take payoffs to re-zone a property. Too much money to be made, and too many elected people with no brains, morals or ethics...
