After so many years of the stock market being above the mean, it wouldn't surprise me to see years of the
market being below the mean, but it would surprise me very much to see widespread economic collapse. There's no justification for it, IMO.


I guess that depends on whether or not you think the stock market is the economy.

I think you are saying the economy will be ok with a weak stock market.

I tend to believe that widespread economic collapse will be the result of the stock market drastically declining. JMHO
