BoardPatrol.com, The Financial Message Board Police, Launches its Services

--BoardPatrol.com to "police" public companies' Financial Message Boards for defamation--

San Mateo, CA--BoardPatrol.com, The Financial Message Board Police, announced the launch of its financial message board policing services. BoardPatrol.com will police, analyze, and proactively improve the online image of the world's top public companies within the financial message board community.

BoardPatrol.com, The Financial Message Board Police, helps publicly traded companies improve their online image by increasing investor confidence and crushing the villains within the financial message board community. Founded in April, BoardPatrol.com is pursuing its first clients.

Justin Keener, BoardPatrol.com's founder and CEO stated, "Many companies are subject to 'bashers' who browse financial message boards to defame, commit slander, and spread misinformation against outstanding companies. This can have a serious, detrimental effect on the companies' securities, executives, employee morale, and reputation. BoardPatrol.com can quickly resolve these problems with an array of labor-intense policing services and technology."

The vision of BoardPatrol.com, Inc. became clear to Keener when he served as Chief Operations Officer and Director of a $100 million publicly traded company. Keener saw his name, and his company's name, maliciously defamed on financial message boards throughout the Internet.

"There were people bashing my name, and my company's name, for no logical reason. They certainly didn't know me, and they didn't really know my company. Many of these bashers are shorting the stock and are hoping to drive the price down, or they're just 'out to get' the company because they have nothing better to do," Keener stated. "As I watched my company and many others get bashed, I always thought that someone should come up with a service to defeat the bashers and correct all of the rumors and misinformation," he added.

There are currently dozens lawsuits pending against Internet users who have spread false or slanderous misinformation within the financial message board community. Thousands of executives and companies have fallen prey to the bashers who are set out to crush their reputation and share price. Companies that have filed law suits for message board defamation include Shoney's (NYSE: SHN), Xircom (Nasdaq: XIRC), and Ziasun Technologies (OTC BB: ZSUN).

I was intrigued by the line "The vision of BoardPatrol.com, Inc. became clear to Keener when he served as Chief Operations Officer and Director of a $100 million publicly traded company." So I did a little digging...

Turns out that Keener was COO of Cosmoz.com, Inc., which traded on the OTC as CMOZ. Their most recent 10K (year ended 6/30/00) states:

=====
On January 7, 2000, our board approved a grant of 875,000 restricted shares to Justin Keener, who at that time was serving as our chief operating officer, and as a director. On May 12, 2000, Mr. Keener surrendered the share certificate and cancelled the shares. The board has recently proposed, but has not yet approved, a resolution that Mr. Keener receive non-qualified stock options to purchase 467,466 shares of our common stock. On or about May 12, 2000, Mr. Keener resigned from his position as chief operating officer and resigned from the board.

For the year ending 6/30/00, CMOZ had a net loss of $4,336,434. During their fourth quarter their stock started on a slide from 1.2188 to 0.2969, and kept going down afterwards. It now trades at around .06. And Keener wonders why people "bashed" CMOZ under his watch? Are we to believe that given CMOZ's huge net loss and Keener's untimely departure that his statement about being COO of a $100M publicly traded company isn't a tad misleading? Will I now get targeted by Board Patrol for pointing this out? (g)

I wonder if Mr. Keener has ever heard of Mr. Westergaard...
