long-gone: <AFTER Robert Rubin left the Treasury did Citi Group pick up a short gold position? >

I'm sorry, I know nothing about that so I have no opinion on the matter. All the same, I still see nothing wrong for anyone to sell short, even the former Secretary of the US Treasury.

I am as interested as anyone to know what the facts of the "cabal" and the "conspiracy" are and, indeed, if any of that exists at all. I certainly do not hold a candle for anyone but I do believe in the due process of law and giving an accused person the benefit of the doubt until real evidence has been presented. After all, isn't that what civilization is supposed to be about? In fact, isn't that what the world is supposed to have learned from the United States?
