Hi Ray, in 1929-1930....wasn't there a pretty massive trade war started, that lasted years, that contributed to a huge shrinkage in international trade (that contributed mightily to the great depression..?....also, major horrible weather in Midwest for several years...contributing to drought- ruining farming in (what was then, a more agricultural economy)..

It doesn't look like we'll have equivalents this time, although we're not out-of-the-woods on the Cali. energy crisis yet-ng.....those Californians are probably gonna to try to sock to you guys up the coast, eh? Give 'em hell I say...its their mess, they should pay for it, and fix it...
