Jubimer,

Like you, I am a believer in the digital streaming media future. Here are a couple of stats and some comments.

1. Streaming media software services are expected to grow rapidly from a $1.3Billion overall market today to
over $10.4 Billion by 2004. (US Bancorp Piper Jaffray - Digital Infrastructure 1.0)
2. 50% of all web sites will have streaming media components by the end of 2001 (Gartner Group)

If I look at that and the a] 2006 FCC ruling mandate to digitize content as well as b] Bandwidth availability and
declining acquisition, production and distribution costs; I am led to think that we will have a very digital media
rich future.

My issue with Ampex is that I believe they need to broaden their horizon to include other venues. E.g., they should
get away from the TV metaphor and look at other rich media applications. The financial markets come to mind as does e-learning and other verticals where people spend real money to use video.

In any case, lets see what happens

Thure
