Some AMD observations from today's GeForce 3 launch Just got home from Paris. Let's spare the details on the GeForce 3 and just get to the most important news (for AMD): I was very surprised to see that out of 9 demonstration systems four were Intel (1xPIII, 3xP4), four AMD (Athlon 1.2 and 1.1 GHz) and one Apple. Usually you see all Intel systems on presentations like this. Also very interesting: Out of three product launches from OEMs with new GeForce 3 systems, two were Athlons (one even with DDR)! And Elsa's GeForce 3 (Gladiac 920 ) comes bundled with the game "Giant" which has a very big AMD Athlon logo on it (don't know why, there isn't any text but it's the only logo except the company's logo). Looks like brand recognition is improving and hardware and software manufacturers take AMD much more seriously. Andreas
