Amazon should finish the first quarter of 2001 with roughly $650 million in cash and cash equivalents. We look for Amazon's cash balance to be above $730 million by the end of 2001.

The funny thing is that these "optimistic" figures jibe with Glenn's estimate. If by the end of 2001 Amazon has $730 million in cash, this means that by mid February they would have about zero in cash, after having settled their accounts from the holiday season.
