Education in America is one of the few places where people come together and are forced to learn to get along I'm not ready to give up on public education yet, either. I think there are similarities to the time that the military stopped the draft. I'm not saying that was, on balance, a bad idea, but there was definitely an upside to mixing young people together in boot camp. I would be in favor of running a competitive system within the public schools. If the unions could be convinced, that is. Karen
